Katie Rose
Katie Rose is a singer and holistic therapist committed to using sound as a tool of personal, social and ecological transformation. She has worked with groups and individuals from all walks of life, including those with special needs at venues across the UK and internationally. She has performed alongside sound practitioners including Don Conreaux, Aidan McIntyre, Nikki Slade and Tim Wheater Katie creates music which interweaves original material with song, chant and mantra from global traditions. Releases include two albums of healing music The Singing Tree (2009) and Shiva's Rain (2011) and has also released an EP of folk music, fol-de-rose and contributed to compilations of unusual folk music (Echoes from the Mountain 2010 & Weirdlore 2011) She has also composed music for The 7 Graces of Marketing Conference and Road to Peace - a film about the Dalai Lama. Katie recently co-ordinated a concert for Sing for Water which featured over 180 singers raising funds for WaterAid. She runs a monthly evening The Garden of Roses at InSpiral Lounge and plays regularly with Alive! Musicians at Tim Broughton's 5 Rhythms sessions.
